Running the "American" direction and turning RIGHT!:D New 4 turn complex inside oval turn 1 then the rest of the way in reverse around the F-1 circuit. I think this thing will work and Kenny Roberts Jr. is ecstatic about the whole idea! Perhaps my 1st Moto GP.

Won't that look like an Autocross course with a bunch of cones or concrete medians?

Given the death spiral IMS is in, it would be a waste of money. What they should do is get ahead of the curve by plowing the whole f'n thing up and planting corn.

You Midwesterners are in for a treat! In fact, now that my F1 USGP plans for next year are sunk, I may join you. The 125 and 250 classes will be flying over the pond to Indy as well (they don't for Laguna - we get AMA racing instead).

And should F1 return, they'll use the new layout  . At least according to Autosport.com

F1 would likely use new Indy layout

T2, T3, & T4 look like kart track nonsense just to get the bikes onto the short chute to get over the access tunnel, but T6 - T9 looks a bit better than the Tilkesque crap used to get the F1 cars onto the banking.

If they were to race cars on the track again, I would like to see them have T3 be a quick left onto the oval, and omit T4 entirely. My guess is that they had to put in the small "teet" for T4 so that the bikes didn't have a wall at the exit to the corner. Getting rid of those stupid hairpins in the infield section is a definite upgrade. At this date, I have already penciled in a trip to Indy come next fall.

T1 is still going to be interesting with guys coming down from 210mph and heading straight for concrete walls.
