Can Tex Manning follow up his 5th at Iowa by actually getting a Foyt entry onto the podium at Richmond?

Saturday
Mostly cloudy. Scattered showers and thunderstorms in the morning. Highs in the mid 80s. Northeast winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

They're talking about 1/2-1 inch of rain possible tonight, and the new, sky-high grandstand at RIR is a lightning-magnet.

Only if Danica can take out 1/4 of the field again!

Wrong again. Barely anyone will pay to get in, but Philip Morris HQ will put 15-20K there alone.

As long as he doesn't have to wear a necktie, he's golden.

I always got along with foreign people. And even though I went over there and raced, I just don't like the way they eat and the food they eat. And wearing a necktie at breakfast, that just ain't A.J. Foyt. If I want to eat breakfast, I want to wear a T-shirt. I might have a hot dog, I might have eggs. I don't believe in tuxedos and ties. It's just like putting me in jail when I have one on.

Milka is supposed to get her own special extra practice session.

I hope they can fit it in between the rain drops

I bet she finishes at the bottom of the time sheets for that session.

Hell, AJ missed his true calling, the diplomatic service. Since he "gets along with foreign people", it's too bad he never learned to talk Jap, Eyetalian or maybe Arab.....the World would probably be a better place.

Richmond is one track that once you get in the marbles, there is no saving the car, even when you get in the marbles exiting turn 4, then when you enter turn 1 your car goes straight into the wall it will not turn

Foyt Racing reverts to fine futililty.

Duno's practice crash was pretty pathetic. How can anyone lapping so slowly get into the grey and hit the wall? :tony:

The grid was set from driver points due to rain.

First Yellow for debris on lap 60. Just in time for the first pitstops keeping it from being a Franchitti runaway. :tony:

Duno retires with terminal talent troubles on lap 79.

I actually watched that. I feel like I've been sedated. In fact the only other time I felt like this was when I woke up after surgery. No wonder nobody buys tickets. Must turn channel before idiot Ashley Judd blathers on about Dario being the Ghost of Jimmy Clark.

If the "race" was as stunningly dull as the T&S I kept running in the background this evening I'd expect most small crowd there to be comatose right now.

In the end our Futility Heroes returned to form and slipped back to mid field or worse. Mr. Ed comes home 10th without having shown the anything near the almost competitive speed of his teammate Scheckter (7th). AJ IV limps home in 13th. Tex Manning brought his Foytmobile home in 14th.

Marco Andretti finished 12th, raising the question "What's wrong with that boy ?" and why is he being touted for the Seabass seat at Newman-Haas-Lannigan for 2008? Patrick ran consistently at the end of the train of fast cars and only came in 6th because of a late pit stop with too few racing laps following for her to slip back to the 9th place for which she was clearly headed. And finally, Duno again had trouble maintaining anything near the race pace and quit for the usual "handling" reasons. :shakehead
