Will Bourdais or Villeneuve wreck a 908 before it has a chance to blow up? :gomer:

Creation seriously slow so far. Must be the paint job.

Track is still pretty dirty according to some of the drivers...and there's the possibility of rain tonight and tomorrow...and over the weekend as well....this could be VERY interesting...

Not necessarily so when the same car/team wins 7 out of the last 8....;)

Bourdais----------> seriously impatient, will crash. Jack will grow tired of the whole venture in the early am, clutch the bitch, blame the car and catch a jet for his yacht.

There's not much Dyson can't afford. Money ain't the issue.

I suspect you'll not see a P2 Porsche at Le Mans 'til they can get the things to finish a 12-hour race reliably.

I have always been of the belief that any event that has this much heritage behind it is a pretty big deal. Yes, it is dumbed down, but not as bad as the Indy 500.

For me, Bourdais in a decent car is enough to raise my interest. I also think that the diesel tech. is very interesting.

Of course not. Why only let 48 cars run on an 8 mile track when you can fit 80 on a track half the size?

The worst thing about Le Mans is that it is run by the French.

The France family should travel to France, buy the ACO and convert the race to Grand Am specs. That would touch off a stampede to buy affordable, ****box "sportscars" and the entry list would swell to at least 150 cars

And it would be an infinitely more exciting race than what it is under the ACO.

But, ooh, I can't wait to watch the "technology" parade around for 24 hours. Yay.

Pretty simple solution for that really, DON'T WATCH IT.

See? Wasn't that easy?

Actually, it's turned into more of an Anti-SOG thread than an anti-Grand-Am thread. 'Course, we know who brought up GA in the first place, don't we?

Anyway: Field size limitations are due to pit/garage space, which has been expanded in the past couple years bring the field up to its current size of 55 (which, last I checked, is bigger than 48). Much more expansion would require a tremendous amount of earth-moving and probably some further butchery to the track.

Crap! Were there NO lugnuts on the car? Its actually hard to do that by accident.

Surely trashed some rotors and undercarriage. No way to get a jack under the car either.

On topic, I will have LeMans on in the background this weekend while I work down the honeydo list.
