Poor guy. He didn't start the petition, but the guy who did probably resides in his riding.

Petitions are brought forward daily to the House, more often than not by the MP who represents where it originated.

I would be really surprised if Lake actually believes it - and more surprised that if he did, the PC party allowed him to do this.
