What is the housing market like up there? No, I'm not moving, just curious. The houses that front Lake Erie look nice.

I don't have an answer for you (try www.mlslistings.com), but I lived on Catawba Island on Lake Erie when I was a kid.

It was.......COLD.

Nice place, though. I hear it's got lots of condos and golf courses nowadays.

$890K?

I was there two years ago on biz and aside from the park the area seemed pretty depressed and in transition.

Love the Great Lakes though and I don't care about the cold. I lived on Superior for five winters

We vacationed at the Cedar Point amusement park a few times back in the 60s. The lake back in those days was a nasty shade of brown. :yuck: Has that been fixed over the years?

Got a sis/bro-in-law with a cottage at Gem Beach on Catawba Island. They got a Helluva deal on the place as it used to be his uncle's. I know for 1000 sq ft cottages not on the water in the Gem Beach area, you're lookin' at $2-300K. I like the area... lotsa good people, and the beach/water has cleared up significantly in the last 10 years. I wouldn't drop that kinda coin on a cottage, tho.

Cedar Point is pretty cool, too. I haven't been there for prolly 10 years, but it looks like now, since all the kiddies topped the height requirements, we're gonna have Warlock Family Day at the park. Mmmmmm... leering at (hopefully) 18yr+ girls behind shades...

Yippee skippy.

flowing water can double the worth, and then there's all this:
2 covered concrete pavilions, 2 springfed pools, Basketball Court, 2 Sand Volleyball Courts, Frisbee Golf Course, Miniature Golf Course, Driving Range:D

That's a pretty sweet spot though, between Blanco & Wimberley, and a stone's throw from Canyon Lake.
