Crazy stuff man.... he could drive, fo' sho !!! :thumbup:

Dont know how much longer he could have driven competitively, but with the Chin on the way up, Senna certainly could have posted some more poles or even victories before hanging it up.... of course, we'll never really know.

and to think, most of his driving days were when guys actually had to shift the gears themselves, and there was a major lack of driver aids that are everywhere in F1 techno racing today

I did read about that yesterday. I hate May 1, because I also lost my grandma four years ago that day, but at least she got to live to be 94. And interesting, both Senna and Ratzenberger were deceased at the track, but because of the investigations they could not state that.

I remember Sid Watkins saying he was not a religious man, but that he felt like he could sense Senna's spirit leave right there at the track. Not sure he really ever said at that time, though, that they physically called TOD at the track. Probably his way of saying Senna didn't suffer.

I have not seen the crash since the live broadcast, but I was sure on the first view I could see Senna move slightly as the car came to rest and then slump forward.

He certainly had his hands full with the Williams, and the pressure from Shu. Also the preceding years w Ford power sure made it tough to be competitive, but I think he was very much at the top of his game. For the first time I actually was really excited about seeing what he would do with the Williams in '94. I think seeing how much he was ahead of DH previous to Imola, and how well Hill took the fight to Shu, Senna would have been a 5 or 6 time champion before Shumacher was.
