View Full Version : I need satellite coordinates for Monday

I've got a bar here in Indy ready to open early Monday for drinks, breakfast and racing.

They've got a big dish and are ready to pluck the race out of the sky, but they've had some problems previously with Fox Sports whatever and/or TSN.

Most of the time though they can at least dig up a video feed which considering Fox will be in Spanish doesn't seem like a bad deal.

My question:

Where could I go look for some probable Satellite numbers?

IF THEY HAVE THE DTV SYSTEM THEY CAN GET THE CHANNEL ON THE 400'S I THINK IT IS 415 OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. IF THEY HAVE THE OLD BIG DISH SYSTEM, THEY HAVE TO DO SOME DIGGING AS I DONT REMEMBER tsn EVER ON OUR OLD DISH.
MYSELF I GET BOTH AND WILL OPEN MY DOORS FOR ANY FANS WILLING TO COME BYE.... :)

Which bar? :saywhat:

Also they can order Fox Sports Espanol for the day and then cancel it if you can't get the coordinates.

IIRC  TSN should be on Anik E2 sat. or the Anik E1....

[edit] Noticed that Canada launched the Anik F1 sat.... it replaces e2... e1 is dead.

According to this page: http://www.satcodx7.com/2527/eng/

I see no mention of TSN, but the French sister station, RDS is there in the station chart.

I'll keep looking....

[edit] I've found something. (i think) this page: http://www.evsl.com/List_of_Services.PDF has all channels offered on the F1 and E2 sat. It has 2 TSN channels on page 5. it says you need F1 transponder 18 for both. DBC VCN of 400 and 401. Hope it helps.

[More Edit] This page: http://www.spaceandtech.com/digest/flash2003/flash2003-008.shtml will give you a quick link to info on Anik F1, and its GSO orbit direction....

When I read the title of this thread I thought 'bird had lost it and was resorting to tactical nukes. :)

My first thought was that I needed co-ords, too --- for a series of JDAMs at the Museum, the HQ, and runway busters along the main straight for a strike at noon local time on Sunday.

ps: besides, who knows whether or not Saddam is hiding a subbasement of the Speedway museum cowering under the chassis of a Premier copy of the 1913 Peugeot?

Just as long as he gives Ziggy a heads up to clear out of Speedway and to head out to someplace like Clarmont.

First of all someone has too much time on thier hands... :D

Secondly it is amazing to look at that pick from 1998 and look at Indy today and see that some of the grandstands have been removed. And the wankers still can't even sell the joint out with less seats.

Is it just a coincidence that TF is down?:D

Thanks for the links Steve.

I'm working with the McGilvery's in Speedway to make this happen if anyone's interested. I have no doubts that they will dig up the raw feed if nothing else but I can't guarantee anything. If it happens I'll have my laptop with me for timing and scoring and, after an eye-opener or two, will more than likely provide the color commentary....

Details as I get them.

PS I should have posted this in "gatherings"..

Feel free to move it WB
