bandwagon's too full with UT people. :D

UCI's knocked out 4 universities with a combined 16 titles thus far this postseason, UT 6, ASU 5, Fullerton 4, Wichita St. 1

Throw in their 2 game sweep of USC this season and it's 5 unis with 28 titles

beavers-eaters tonight!

Barry Zito does it again, proving that he is worth every last penny of the $126million at home to those yuppie douchebags.

Barry Zito sucks.

Cork and I may actually agree on something for once. :D Although I may change the wording to stinks. ;)

Cork, I saw your Hiro :tony: in action tonight. His numbers were not too bad- he wasn't charged with the loss, plus he actually got a hit raising his average to 0.129! But the juiceman and the Jints couldn't beat the juggernaut that is the Cincinnati Reds :gomer: :tony: !

Didn't think Discount Dolan would pony up the $ to get this done. to the Wahoo Nation.

BTW: I think Pronk will just go nuts in the 2nd half now.

Thats a pretty nice hometown discount for Hafner to sign.

Im pumped I'll be able to wear my Hafner jersey for the next 5 years. Not like all the Browns jerseys I've purchased.

Dude, that's just wrong. You should have just gone back to when Stu defended the platoon of Delsucky and Michaels in LF. :gomer: JoBo is just plain pathetic. The Tribe has so many holes, it's hard to imagine that they were one game away from the WS last season. Jeebus. :shakehead

And the Sucking by the Shore continues, now w/o CC.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3475667

How's that Michaels/DelSucky platoon doing for you now, Stu. :gomer: How this bunch managed to be w/in one game of the WS last season is mind boggling. :saywhat: Just goes to show how fortunate the Cavs and Tribe were last season. Get ready for another 5 years of suck up north. :irked:

you know there is a 2008 baseball thread right?

the dellucci/michaels platoon was a quote in December of 06. Never said they would be good this year. dellucci was hurt most of last year, and the quote was before most people came to the conclusion that he was a product of roids.

this bunch of players came within a game of the WS last year because they were healthy. Can you name a team that loses their #2 and #3 starters, their MVP caliber catcher, and their DH to extensive injuries and still wins? also factor in the bullpen imploding and shapiro not adding any depth in the off season and you have an underperforming 2008 cleveland indians team.

as far as the CC trade leading to "5 years of suck", he was gone at the end of the season anyway. better to get a near ML ready outfielder, 2 other prospects, and a AAAA pitcher for him than 2 bottom of the first round draft picks that will take 3-5 years to develop.

I just grabbed the most recently updated baseball thread, yo. Mebbe I'll start a Cleveland sports suckage thread instead. :p

Good health/luck is the biggest factor in the Tribe's and Brownies' success last season. Depth is the biggest factor from being good to the mosh pit of mediocrity for all but the most well-heeled teams. The fact is this team is paper thin, and has holes throughout the lineup (both corners of the OF, 3B, 2B...). Pronk hasn't hit worth a crap since 2 season ago, so his loss is a wash. Anyway, I called out the signing of Delsucky and the Michaels trade as worthless, and that is indeed has prove to be the case.

well theres no depth because mirabelli can't draft. i have no understanding as to why he is still a part of the team. the only quality players on this team are from latin american scouting or shapiro's trades.

even so, you can't replace a cy young candidate, a #2-3ish starter, an All-Star catcher, and your DH all with minor leaguers and expect to win.

Yes I know you aren't counting Hafner, but the nature of the injury and the reports that have come out lean towards this being something that has bothered him over the last year, not just since May.
