View Full Version : Levi, Lee, Wrangler, Other?

For whatever reason I have worn Levi's my entire life. Just was my definition of jeans I guess, or just a habit.

Well, the last four pair of Levis I bought all wore too quickly and had belt loops fall off and the like.

So I decide to make the switch and I buy ONE pair of Lees, just to try them out. Surprise to me, by my wife is in disgust. She calls them the "Chevy of Jeans". She also said something about how she prefers my butt in Levis but I won't repeat that.

What say you? What is a proper pair of jeans?

I've been wearing Lee for many years because they fit my skinny ass the best. :p

I do think though that Levi = jeans in our culture.

I just bought a couple of pair of Arizona Jeans. JcPenny store brand? Anyway, as a lifelong Levi wearer, these looked to be the same as 560's but they're not. The loose fit are too long. The relaxed fit will do but they are not the same.

I have one pair of Lee's. My wife says my a$$ looks a mile wide. I think it has something to do with the rear pocket placement.

i would say wrangler are the nascar of jeans. lee is the irl.

levi is just the standard classic, but anyone my age doesn't own 1 pair. Wear whatever you like. My brother has worn Gap jeans for 15 years and he loves them.

I just wear shorts. When I wear jeans though, I think I only have structure ones. Which says how often I wear them, cause structure changed to express for men about 3 years ago and I probably haven't bought a new pair since.

I used to wear Levis all the time, until my wife bought me a pair of Eddie Bauer jeans. Now they're all I buy.

Now I do. And it may be the reason I've worn Levis since I was about that kid's age.:gomer:

Old Navy jeans have been treating me right for about 5 years now.

It blows my mind to hear what the hipsters are out there paying for denim.

Paper Denim, Mavi, AG, Diesel, Lucky. If you're feeling spendy Rock & Republic or 575.

This helps you in no way whatsoever :p

I think it has something to do with the rear pocket placement. I think it has to do with your gluteus maximus:gomer:

Would those be the ones with the crotch down at their knees? One fashion trend I will never understand. :shakehead The cops must like it though. ;)

Nah, think hipster, not hip-hop. Black-rimmed glasses, asymmetrical haircut and $230 jeans.

Do they still make Guess? jeans? Those were what the cool kids wore when I was in junior high. I personally have always worn Levis, but haven't bought a pair in a long time (over 5 years).

Neiman's Last Call is also great for picking up nice jeans. You strike me as a Mavi kind of guy, Mr. Longman.

And definitely commando, when the jeans are comfortable enough, no need for anything extraneous.

LL Bean. Good fitting, well made and not that expensive.
Plus you don't have to go to a mall.

LL Bean jeans (http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?page=jeans&categoryId=3510&storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1)

 That is a huge selling point for me. Few regular stores carry my size. And Big&Tall stores sell crap clothes. I haven't bought a pair of jeans off the rack in five or six years.

Why?????

I can't tell the difference between brands, and I have $15 or $20 pairs of jeans that can go years without needing to be replaced. Once they are faded I just use them whenever I'm autocrossing or working on the MR2 or whatever.
