I know most here don't like him but I will miss him. :(

I wonder how the heck pressdog got the exclusive on this?

Daly's hyper colorful "Grandma's on the whiskey" and "Hold on to your hollyhocks" and "this is hair 'em, scare 'em time" either added major color to a parade-ish street race or was a distraction, depending upon who you ask.

That about sums it up.

Seems as though ESPN/CCWS is setting their own way and looking for a fresh start.

So long as they Priestly, Goodyear and Wallace aren't in our future.

Before the Daly hate piles on, I'll add a "me too".

Daly was at the kart show this past weekend, wonder if 'dog made the trip?

DD used devilmaster as a backdrop for a video shot. Didn't even pay him!

Well-well-well. Some positive news.

Wallace isn't making any fans of his NASCAR broadcasting skills. Moron is one of the nicer names I have heard used to describe him.

I won't miss Daly behind the microphone. He's a good guy and knows his racing, but I always preferred the color commentary from Parker Johnstone and TK. Plus, I think they had to attach a cattle prod to Derek to break him of the habit of referring to the series as CART every 10 seconds. :D

Maybe he has stepped out of the booth to concentrate more on his son's career, kinda like Rahal seemed to be at Atlantic events last year instead of going to the IRL races.

I wonder if I've heard "Loook ait her chaist!" for the last time.

Who will ChampCar alienate tomorrow?

Will it be someone from the media?

A driver? A team owner? A sponsor?

Place your bets! :p

DM wants to get paid! My backside is big enough for a logo or two!

So now CCWS isn't paying for announcers anymore and is instead, accepting applications from "Mic buyers"? :gomer:

Shhh... not too loud... ;) Sounds like an eBay listing waiting to happen.

"For Sale: Opportunity to call a ChampCar race. Driver knowledge appreciated. And if you do know the drivers, maybe you could let us know too? We have no idea who they'll be"

That could lead to a barrage of ,,, and co: who know everything about a certain driver and the series because they're best friends with someone's mother.

Maybe Champ Car can do a reality show/competition thing like ESPN did. Start with 10 announcers, put them in a house with a lot of cameras, make them hang out in a hot tub, let them have a shot at describing some Paul Tracy moves ...

"Look at her chest! Look at her chest!"

DD sure beats a Paul Page "Three wide! Wohaa!" any day.

Too smart for NASCAR, too smart for Champcar, too smart for TV.

I liked him as a pit/track reporter better. He knows a lot about the cars and what the drivers are doing IMO.
