My buddy Miles Nelson was in Las Vegas, and took a bunch of pictures of the course coming together: http://www.indyracereports.com/2006/Articles/LVGPcourse.htm

Miles is really your buddy?

Yes, he is. I asked him to take the pictures the next time he was in Vegas, and he did.

He and I might not agree about much racing wise, but that doesn't mean we can't be friends.

That's cool, just never would have put you two on the street together.

Looks like the track is coming together.

Interesting. I'd have to agree with the assessment about the pit location. I'm sure they had a very good reason for switching it to the outside and I also believe a chicane may be necessary near/before 11-12 as I can't see them diving into that underpass at full speed. Probably a jink to the left lanes before the drop then back to the right up top on the other side to enter pit lane? Might be nice taking pics from that parking garage at T-6!

There will definitely be a chicane before pit entry. We're still working out exactly what it's going to be, but right now we're looking at a right-left-right configuration that will hopefully take speeds down to around 45-50 mph:

 ...but, accelerating uphill through the gears turning left? How fast does a Champcar go from 50 to 150? Going to be a hulluva curve!

Ed,
Is D3 still involved in course design, or is someone else doing it these days?

Looks like they are still active, but Vegas isn't listed as one of their projects. list (http://www.d3motorsport.com/projects/projects.html)
