FWIW and for anyone that wondered what PJ has be up to here's a fluff piece about him. He opened a Honda dealership around 10mi from here last year and one of the local non-racing writers happened to notice.

One of my friends found out about his dealership and wrote an e-mail to them. I think Parker himself wrote her back within a day.

I didn't realize he was out of the booth. The last few years I have run into him and chatted with him at NHRA events. Always a class act. Good for him!

I used to live in Wilsonville. I had a good laugh when I went back a couple of years ago and saw his dealership.

I was in Vegas during the Memorial Day weekend in '96. I was looking at an $800 payoff on a $20 bet on Parker to win the US500. I probably would have been buying drinks that night if Parker hadn't run out of fuel.

Them was the days...

Last time I was in Vegas, neither the MGM Grand nor the Stardust would take my bet on the Champ Car race going on that weekend...

Parker has always been a class act.

Honda had an insert in Racer Magazine featuring all of their cars/drivers in CART. My dad is an autograph collector, so he mailed it off to each team to get it autographed by their drivers. The last one who got it was Johnstone - he returned it with a hand written letter congratulating him on collecting the autographs of all the Honda drivers, and commenting what a cool collectable it was.

(The only letter that was more amusing was the one that came with an autographed photo of Jacques Villenueve - stating that he'd be driving in F1 the following season, and would no longer be signing autographs.)
