Not sure if you're being facetious, but the pop-off valves are gone. No need for ChampCar to regulate boost with one manufacturer.

Is it just me or does the back end look a little low riderish in comparison
to the front?

Is it just me or does the back end look a little low riderish in comparison
to the front?Noticed that too. Is it really running with the undertray at an angle, or is it an optical illusion due to the front wing being set up pretty high?

Just eyeballing it, I think there are two optical illusions at play. 1) Assuming you are looking at the Seabass car, it appears the shot was taken while the car was on a slight uphill. The front wheel is ever so slightly higher in the frame than the back. 2) The top of the rear wing is lower than the top of the roll hoop. Again, this draws your eyes in and makes the car feel like it is sloping backwards towards the rear wing.

The undertray, if you look at the bottom of the car, is uniformly distant from the ground, the front wheel is clearly smaller than the rear, and the top of the sidepod does not seem to be any less level than the bottom of the front to the bottom of the rear wheel. My vote is optical illusions. :)

The RuSport car is cool looking, and it appears to be hiking a wheel. He must have just hit a bump as it is the outside one.

Newman/Haas looks good, but I would rather it be all red. Ditch the black lower portion of the intake on the sidepod.

I like the new Forsythe paint scheme. And finally, Red Bull is the NA OW series that makes sense. Too bad they couldn't keep AJ in it too.

Interesting. That looks like one side of a twin turbo setup. I thought someone said twin turbos were scuttled. :\

Someone needs to do a black car this year.

Something about the main "Indeck" bothers me- I can't figure if it's the color or placement or both, but it throws the whole thing off to my eye.

I like the Indeck paint job...sue me.
As a bare minimum it isn't another red/white or red/yellow car.

I also like the Red Bull colors on a black car...hint hint.

I like the Forsythe scheme too. At least they painted the whole sidepod. I don't like the McD's or CDW that has the black on the front of the sidepod. But I assume there are preview liveries and may be developed for the season.

Although the car is basically black, the stripe down the side of Katherines car shows nice lines.

I was talking more about the fact that the car is rolling fast enough for the Bridgestones on the tires to be blurred... but also missing almost all of its bodywork.

So someone see if they can find a similar shot from the right side then we'll know. I can't tell if any plumbing feeds into the turbo on the left side but I can't see how. Could they be boosting only one bank anyway? It's been done. My guess is it's easier to run two small turbos from a plumbing and a heat reduction standpoint. (notice how much lower the rear deck seems?) Notice where those "gills" are? Nothing has been said by people who were there ( and my "source;) isn't answering his phone!)" so I can't imagine such a big change wouldn't be noticed. The twin-turbo Mazda/Cosworth. I can live with that. We'll see.

They're still using a single turbo located in the transaxle casing. The headers feed directly into wastegates, there's one on each side. The little exit pipe pointing up is the wastegate exit. Here's a pic showing both sides:

Ok, I mistook the waste-gate for a small turbo and didn't see the pipe feeding into the place where the turbo hides. On the old cars most of that plumbing was hidden by heat shields.

Would be cool for someone to do a paint job for one race, that made it look like you were seeing all the components "under the skin".

Thanks. There's a bunch more here, in hi-res (don't try hotlinking any, they'll break):
album (http://turboesprit.myphotoalbum.com/view_album.php?set_albumName=album19&page=8)

1) I think the logo part of the valve cover is just a thin strip screwed on, so it shouldn't be hard to replace.
2) :D
