Crispy if it's thin. Well done, but not crispy if it's thick.

Nothing better with Eggs over easy, and sourdough toast, then a few thick slices of pepper bacon, fried in a cast iron pan.

medium cooked bacon,2-3 slices, wrapped around a nice sized chicken breast sliced in the middle stuffed with thin sliced cooked ham and pepper jack cheese. Bake at 300 for 15 min.

Yep ,salad and green beans and ya got a meal. Cheap too.

BLT HAS to have crispy bacon.

Only thing I use the commercial thin stuff for is for wrapping. Oscar Mayer is really thin so it cooks completely. Mostly use it for ABT's (atomic buffalo turds). Basic recipe is jalapenos seeded then filled with cream cheese wrapped w/ bacon then smoked for an hour).

For the thick stuff I bought slabs from a local smokehouse for years. Since getting into BBQ I don't eat much bacon. Good BBQ hits all the same flavor notes. I've been liking a BLT made with chopped "burnt ends" from a brisket better than bacon for the last few years.

Belly bacon (US style) and loin bacon (Canadian style) are neither one "real" bacon. Both are both real good, but at different things.

So what's her problem?
At Sodolak's, you get six chicken-fried bacon strips for $3.50. If you ate an order of this stuff every day for a year and you went to the store in a pair of Capri pants, it would look like you were keeping a sack full of gophers prisoner in your underwear.

The Perfect Bacon Sandwich Decoded: Crisp and Crunchy

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/11/world/europe/11bacon.html

LONDON, April 10 — Should it be slithery or scrunchy, glutinous or grilled? The answer, British scientists say, may be divined by a formula: N = C + {fb(cm) · fb(tc)} + fb(Ts) + fc · ta.

Researchers at Leeds University found that crisp bacon on white bread makes the perfect bacon sandwich.
That is the scientific answer to the question: what makes the perfect bacon sandwich?

And, no, it is not April 1.

Researchers at Leeds University spent more than 1,000 hours testing 700 variants on the traditional bacon sandwich...

The research combined four types of cooking, using grills, pans and ovens, three kinds of oil and four types of bacon — smoked, unsmoked, streaky and thick cut — to establish the preferences of 50 tasters in such matters as the butty’s tactile and aural crunchiness. The study also considered a broad range of condiments (like ketchup and brown sauce) and spreads.

...

Ideally, Danish Bacon said, 0.4 newtons should be applied to crunch the sandwich, creating 0.5 decibels of noise. The formula uses these values: N = force in newtons; fb is the function of the bacon type; fc is the function of the condiment or filling effect; Ts is the serving temperature; tc is cooking time; ta is the time taken to insert the condiment or filling; cm is the cooking method and C represents the breaking strain in newtons of uncooked bacon.

“It’s not a hoax,” Dr. Clayton said, acknowledging that, a few days ago — on April 1, to be precise — it might have been taken as one.

It's always been fascinating to me that people that can't agree on anything else, not even what the word bacon describes, do agree that you have to use soft white bread. Same with BBQ. Even people that eat artisan bread every day want balloon bread or soft buns for their BBQ.

The point is that most people prefer the bread soft and the meat to have a bit of crunch when if comes to smoked pork products.

If you want yours on brioche or ciabatta I'm sure it'll be fine. Multigrain hard roll not so much...:yuck:
