For the last few days I've had an intermittent problem launching OC. No problems with any other sites. Have only tried from my laptop so I can't say the problem isn't on my end. Just got back on after 45 minutes. I think this was the fourth failure since about 6 am. Failures usually are only for a few minutes, but sometimes much longer. Running IE6

Just so you know;)

Anyone else having problems? I did see some problems a couple of days ago but it worked fine from work so I chalked it up to my ISP.

I've been connecting fine the last couple days. Every now ant then it will be unreachable and I just try again a little later.

I had a few issues with OC not loading last week. It went to the OpenDNS site.

Ok, I've seen a couple of glitches today as well. Looks like some kind of DNS issue. I'll look into it.

Thanks for the heads up.

On Comcast cable here at work for some reason they have lost the DNS record for here. I haven't been able to get here all day. I just now changed my nameservers to the openDNS ones and voila! :saywhat:

Same here for the past 24 hours. Last night in a hotel, earlier today from home on Comcast. But it works now, obviously - still on Comcast.

Mystery solved. Our hosting provider is having problems with one of their DNS servers. The problem will be intermittent for the end users because it depends on whether your ISP happens to hit the lame server.

I'm kind of puzzled at why it hasn't been fixed. We've used this hosting company for years (prior to moving OC here) and they've always been very reliable.

I was having the problem consistantly yesterday on Comcast. I didn't try switching ns back today as openDNS seemed to work OK with just a couple of hits that came up lame.

Well it is still broken. I was getting "can't find it errors" about twenty minutes ago.

I was getting the can't find it errors about 15 minutes ago.

If you're using Windows and get the error, you can sometimes simply flush your own DNS and you'll get a different pointer to OC next time you refresh.

From a cmd prompt: ipconfig /flushdns

Thanks for your patience, everyone. We're working on it. It's kind of a finger pointing thing right now. :\

The hosting company had more DNS problems tonight, so I've moved our DNS records to a separate DNS service. Hopefully that will resolve the issues for now.

Thanks again for your patience.

It's doing something since I'm logged on today and wasn't able to at all yesterday.

I saw that the other day. Prolly due to the changes NRC mentioned in another thread. Your ISP may not have update their DNS tables completely.
