The money grubbing weasels that own the local MLS soccer team have set a new professional sports marketing low, they sold the front of the uniforms as ad space.:irked:

Some sort of nutraceutical super juice that is made locally and soon to be in a store near you.

A delicious dietary supplement, XanGo® Juice harnesses the nutritional power of the whole mangosteen fruit through a potent proprietary formula. Just one to three ounces each day unleashes a concentrated rush of xanthones—a vigorous family of phytonutrients. The best part: sensational flavor that’ll keep you coming back for more and more.

XanGo ensures exceptional product quality standards from the mangosteen tree to the bottle of XanGo® Juice. Each bottle meets strict ISO standards and passes hundreds of quality tests before the premium dietary supplement is served to consumers worldwide.

In case you were not aware Utah is the home of literally hundreds of nutraceutical firms  These guys operate by having 500,000+ distributors around the world. Weasel science, weasel distribution and weasel marketing. A freaking perfect weasel storm.

Reminds me of the algae harvested from some lake in Oregon. Network marketing at its finest. Costs $0.05 to produce a bottle of the stuff. Claim that it cures everything from cancer, malnutrition, herpes and ED, wheel it though a 6 tier pyramid, and sell each bottle for $12. :gomer:

Yep, the fact is the US is actually the exception to the rule in terms of sports marketing on jerseys.

Difference is they all do it. Real Salt Lake is the first to do it over here. The thin end of the wedge for the logos soon to be on NBA, NFL and MLB uniforms in a town near you. And the sponsors aren't such weasels either. The guys that own Real Salt Lake are all about the money, they view the team as a get rich quick scheme, you should have seen the stadium negotiations :irked:

http://http://specials.rediff.com/sports/2005/aug/20pic1.jpgCaving into the European practice of selling ad space on sports jersey will completely ruin the rich American tradition and legacy of a team named Real Salt Lake. :tony:

Just wait, there will be Viagra logos on the White Sox uniforms in a couple of years...

Unless you count the New York Red Bulls, which have had the Red Bull logo on their jerseys all year.

What's worse, having a team slap a sponsor logo on their shirts, or actually changing the team's name to that of a sponsoring company?

Does soccer rally matter enough for it to make a difference? CC got more coverage in the papers in WI than mls did.

Unfortunately, Champ Car did not achieve that in Chicago.
