Champ Car could have its first four-car team as Paul Stoddart is in the process of joining forces with CTE/HVM Racing for 2007.
"There are still some details to be worked out but Paul and I met last week and got along like a house-on-fire so I've got a good feeling about working together," said Keith Wiggins, the majority owner of CTE/HVM.
"The best case scenario is that we'll have four cars and the worst case is three but we feel like we can run four cars as efficiently as three. There's just a few things left to be sorted out."

Says Russo is gone cause Calix ix going IPO.....but ......they will be back for sure, just without Russo.
"Our plan is to keep both of our drivers, if somebody doesn't try to steal them, which I know they are," said Wiggins. "This is a good team and we've made progress this season so I'd like to keep everybody together."
It's believed Stoddart is talking to F1 hopeful Robert Doornbos about one of his cars and he said at Surfers Paradise he'd love to be re-united with Justin Wilson, who drove his Minardi in F1.

Wilson claims he wants to stay but his agent, Jonathan Palmer, has been in serious discussions with Forsythe Racing, where he would team with Paul Tracy.

OK, I thought it was funny that a French Atl. champ (Pagenaud) drives for team Oz vineyards, you know, cuz the French are so proud of their wine, food (MacDunno's) and their Maginot Line.
Guess I was the only one.

After reading what Spicoli linked, how bout we just put all the drivers names in a hat and have the teams pick their drivers? Can't be any worse that what's going on now, where it looks like only 2 drivers (Seb and PT) are confirmed at their 06 team for next year.

The announcement Thursday of a multi-year agreement with ESPN/ABC to broadcast Champ Car races beginning next season fulfilled the next step in the OWRS master plan.
"Champ Car is moving into a bright new era in 2007 with four new venues and a newly-developed car for the series, and this new television agreement gives us even more reason to be optimistic about the future," said Champ Car President Steve Johnson. "This agreement allows us to bring the excitement of Champ Car racing to a greater number of fans while providing a stronger delivery platform for our sponsors and corporate partners."
Champ Car will have three major test sessions to open the year, with the final "Spring Training" event at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca March 9-10. What is being discussed is making it a community event, with details to be forthcoming.
A lot of folks are still smarting over the loss of the Champ Car race here, but this test session - for which all the teams are being encouraged to attend according to Champ Car officials - will give us a chance for a Champ Car fix locally and an opportunity to show Kalkhoven, et al that the series needs to return to the world-renowned 2.238-mile, 11-turn permanent road course. Stay tuned for more info.

spend some $$ 0n the track, the A1GP turned out to be a farce with the water damage, spend $$ on promotion, they know why CC isn't there for races anymore, they just have to fix it.
