It was reported on the radio this morning that she has to pay him $30k / month for a time period equal to half of the time they were married. She also does not have to pay child support on his other two kids...like she had been doing.

They say she has a rock solid prenup. She and her lawyers were smart after what could've been a disaster when she married that guy for 3 days. Nice job with the PR too. Shows up looking smoking on Letterman and files for divorce the next day.

Give it time. Only takes a few more times riding around with the kids in her lap.

Supprise!!
I kind of hope she gets custody maybe she will hire a good nanny that actions are better than her's. It's not really a question but the first baby holding while driving. For God sakes why didn't the body guard take the baby.
Unstead on cell suppost to be calling police. She was in a big enough SUV she could have just gunned it and I think the POP would have moved. If they didn't get out of the way oh well another story.

Why do I get the feeling this was all a five year plan by Spears.
The wedding, the babies and the divorce, it all seems very neat and tidy.

She looks hot again. So he had to put up with her bitchy ass while she was doing all that dieting, then as soon as she was looking good, she dumped him. TFF.

Of course, he was quite the prize. Does anyone else fear that he is the face of the new American man?

Interesting point actually.

In the States is custody usually granted to the mother?

Typically not unless both parents are unfit. Or sometimes when the mother in is unfit and the father is male.

Yes. In the States, custody is generally granted to the mother.

Rarely does the dad get custody. Even more rare, someone else (grandparents, foster parents, etc.) will get custody.

My brother got custody of his daughter, which surprised the heck out of me. It was the right decision, but, hell, when do Courts make the right decision?

Heh. Yes, I was thinking she was refering to the previous post and asking about custody to grandparents.:o

The situation is similar to the UK whereby it is the mother who is usually granted custody. Although, the father can petition for access rights etc...

But in Britneys case, the subjective test needs to be applied.

I am not saying Spears is a saint but if YOU were Britneys kid, would you want K-Fed-Ex/Fed-up raising you?

However, no doubt Britneys mother and estranged father will also petition for custody as was reported today.

Does marriage mean anything to celebs these days?

Why do you care? I don't understand the fascination with celebrities, whether it is an actor, musican, athlete, or even race car driver. Your life has nothing to do with them, and I don't see why people lower themselves by looking at celebrities at a higher level.

Does marriage mean anything to celebs these days? You have to understand that it takes a lot of sub-year marriages, surgical implants, rehab visits and minor arrests to keep the average no-talent wanker with a publicist in the "celebrity" news cycle. :gomer:

Of course it does. So much they had THREE ceremonies, because as OC said, the first one must not have given them enough publicity. Now that they found the marriage hasn't rekindled their careers, its time to move on.

Que the messy public divorce and pornographic honeymoon tapes.

Its not that I care specifically about them, Sean.

I am just concerned about the effect these people have on younger people.
They are in a position of influence. Whether we like it or not, younger people look up to these people for inspiration etc..
So if they see these people getting married for 50 hours or 50 days they are going to think this is acceptable.

I don't see why people lower themselves by looking at celebrities at a higher level. In Britney's case I imagine it's because she's not been wearing knickers of late and if you look at a low angle as she gets into a sports car you can see clear up to her cesarean scar.....

Fortunately, it's only the photographers that have to actually lower themselves...:gomer:
