Cause I like to.... no really, I do.....

Anyways, watching a new show called 'The Heat with Mark McEwan', which is about a top Toronto chef and his catering exploits....

Tonight's episode is about catering a 2nd marriage party - and he talks about how the husband is a racecar driver. Mark says 'I thought he was just a weekend driver, but apparently he has an actual race team - Roth Racing.'

Upscale Wal-Mart/5th grade childish. Truly representative of the hapless irl. And the limo was late. Marty must have been driving it himself.

So much poor taste, so little time.

So you didn't have go-go dancers at your wedding?

I was once given tickets to Emeril Live. They shoot it (and most the FN shows) in a studio on 10th Ave in Manhattan. It was pretty cool and the food was actually very good. I suppose Food Network Canada adds content shot in TO or the like?

Of course Alton Brown is the best for the dorks among us. Taught me how to make the worlds best scrambled eggs (and the physics behind it). Cook them in a bowl over boiling water. Amazing difference.

Who's Marty Roth?:gomer:

FN Canada mixes it up with shows from Food Network stateside and some home grown talent and shows. We still get to see shows like Emeril Live, Good Eats, Iron Chef America, etc.etc. But there are also shows featuring Canadian chefs.

For the most part, I like watching the shows that get more into the business aspect of running restaurants, and FN Canada has a decent amount of those. Opening Soon, Restaurant Makeover, The Heat, Made to Order.

I have an old episode of FN Canada's 'Chef at Large' from 2002 on youtube. Its hosted by Chef Michael Smith and he spent the Toronto Molson Indy weekend with Newman/Haas. Good show, still haven't tried Grandma Andretti's pasta sauce.

DM, with greatest respect and remembering some really great TO restaurants I've sampled (best Indian food outside of London, UK IMO), is there such a thing as Canadian cuisine other than Poutine?

Now Poutine is just fine, but I always was surprised it didn't originate in LA (lower Alabama) rather than Quebec. It seems more to the liking of Elvis Presley than Elvis Strojko and Jean Chretien:)
