You may want to send him the Brit Rock link. Gotta be something in there better than 16th century lute ballads. :tony:

And while yer at it, send it also to Rod Stewart with his new really really bad CD. I've only seen the commercial for it, and thats all I ever want to hear.

When was the last time Rod Stewart made anything but a really really bad CD? I mean, The Faces rocked, but Stewart rivals Clapton for Worst Solo Career Ever.

Maybe Sting, Stewart and Bryan Adams should record another movie soundtrack lurve ballad :yuck:

No, see, you do not understand. The vast majority of what Rod Stewart has released has been garbage but it was harmless garbage. This last one, with him pretending to be Mel Torme, was the vilest assault against the ears of humanity in years. It plunged to previously unimaginable depths of execrable and the record company should be charged with crimes against humanity for distributing it.

"Forty years ago it was my dream to break out of Newcastle and never be poor again," he told the magazine. "I'm very privileged. I'm a successful musician, live in a beautiful house, and have a wonderful family."

Apparently Sting isn't bored enough with rock music to play anything original and interesting. Unlike the blues, jazz, or any of the traditional musical forms, rock stars simply make too much money to have anything compelling to say after the comfort and distractions take their toll. Once they are financially independent, and enjoy being home with the family more than on the road with the band, the creative juices stop flowing.

There is of course still a devoted group of hardcore fans to be exploited, so the victory lap tours and dreadful recordings pop up periodically to keep the cash register full. I recall a Crosby, Stills & Nash tour a few years back that was dubbed the "Hand In Your Wallet" tour as the obscene ticket prices were the most memorable aspect of the tour.

If they tour again, instead of going to the show I might just send Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland each a check for $20.

I heard the Police will tour and so will Genesis.... these guys dont need the money do they ?????
Sad part is, I was a HUGE fan of the Police since my English cousin turned me on to them in 1978 when I went to his house for a visit. Saw Ghosts in the Machine tour, then Synchronicity 4xs on the East Coast.... so yeah, I was a Fan-boy I guess.... Sting is a pompous a$$, but I dig Stewart Copeland...

Man, those guys have all got to be pushing 50 y.o. right ? And I think Andy Summers was the "old guy" even back then....

I'll still be interested to see how they sound after all these years. They'll prolly have a meltdown on the European tour and never make it to the States

I don't disagree on Phil, but Genesis was definately a two "The Man" band. :p
