No, it's southern indiana Carhart wearing hicks mixed with 10 year old used ski gear on a 100' vertical hill.

It's not so good.:shakehead

Hey, I learned to ski tow-rope style in Michigan, too! Boyne Mountain. Boyne Mtn and Boyne Highlands were the high end destinations in Michigan when I was young. We went to a little dump not too far from the Waterford Hills sports car track called Summit. They had the rope tows on the bigger hills turned up to where you went faster up the hill than down the hill... I remember that nasty spray-on snow/ice that we called "cardboard." Mont Tremblant was the big annual haj to a real hill. Fortunately, when I moved West in the late 60's the skiing possibilities got a lot better.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 are closed from Evergreen Parkway to the Eisenhower Tunnel because of heavy snow and slick conditions. A rock slide near Georgetown had closed I-70 there earlier this morning. Above, a pedestrian walks to work near Civic Center Park.

20 inches in Denver last night.

Bring on the Snow Winter is here and it’s not even Halloween! The entire state of Colorado is under a winter storm warning today and from north to south, Colorado ski resorts are reporting huge overnight snowfall. Resorts in the northern central Rockies and San Juan mountains are reporting up to a foot of snow while Front Range ski areas have received more than TWO feet of powder. It’s only October, but year-to-date snowfall totals are HUGE: 73 inches at Loveland, 65 inches at Wolf Creek, 60+ inches at Aspen, and 53 inches at Telluride. Thanks to all this great snowfall, Wolf Creek and Keystone have both revised their opening dates and will be opening a week earlier than expected. Tomorrow (Oct. 27), Wolf Creek will celebrate its earliest opening ever. Keystone and Copper both plan to open Nov. 3.

Snow, Snow, Snow!
The calendar may say November, but Colorado snow totals are piling up faster than the school kids can shout "Snow Day". With two to three feet of fresh snow blanketing the Colorado Rockies today, Aspen, Loveland, Silverton and Wolf Creek are all reporting year-to-date snowfall totals well over the 100-inch mark. Perhaps you should think about starting your weekend and head to the mountains...TODAY

Check out these fantastic 48-hour storm totals:
Wolf Creek - 34"
Aspen/Snowmass - 24"
Steamboat - 23 "
Durango (Purgatory) - 21"
Powderhorn - 20 "

Season's about over for me... no snow in weeks and I think I might have had my fill of spring skiing.

As such, Spickly, I'll be in Fruita camping and mountain biking this weekend. Perhaps a beer one night during the week, but probably won't see you on the slopes.

If, during your week at BC, you find yourself running out of good snow, hike the Bald Spot (http://www.offcamber.net/forums/showthread.php?t=10219&highlight=slopestyle). For a 35 minute investment, you'll get some great turns and views above treeline. Do it ! ! !

post up on the forums, or just browse anbd you can find any number of excellent data on any number of locales. shane McConkey and a bunch of other pros post up in there often too. Its not a total gomer jibfest either, everyone is pretty nice, no 'tudes, no posers. Warning: they cuss alot. :D But its always SFW.

"Beta" is firsthand knowledge of conditions.

and "TR" is a trip report. Usually pretty helpful with pics and stories.
