It is interesting and to some degree shows one of the things I don't like

I love Alex, and it was indeed an incredibly exiting moment, but I've always felt that CART should have forced him to cede his P1 to Herta. But, had the stewards penalized Alex for the move, it wouldn't remain so legendary, would it.

Yes, please, let's not refer to that one as "The Pass." Ultimately the mistake was CART's not Alex's and Herta got hosed but more than one forum expert pointed out to me at the time that "4-wheels off and improving position by cutting the course" was NOT a rules violation at that time. (?) I found that hard to believe but it's all part of champcar history now. Ahhhh, the good old days!:)
