This is impossible. The IRL is a professionally run racing series that would never dream of announcing a partial schedule and then trickle out additional dates as they're able. :gomer:

Jeez, I'm down to one Mid-Ohio event annually as it is. Now I might have to skip that too on principle. Oh well, more money for Road America.

Thus solidifying my choice to go with a "Cleveland then on to Mt. Tremblant double-header road show" in lieu of separate trips to M-O (ALMS) and to Cleveland.

Indy Racing League founder Tony George once proclaimed there was an “ocean” of Indy-car owners in this country but it’s starting to look more like a small pond.

Fernandez Racing has lost Scott Sharp and Kosuke Matsuura to other teams, has no IRL deals in place for 2007 and last week laid off 27 people from its Indianapolis shop.

But the current car count for 2007 stands at 16 with Andretti Green (four cars), Chip Ganassi (two cars), Roger Penske (two cars), Panther (two), Rahal Letterman (two), George (two), A.J. Foyt (one) and Dreyer & Reinbold (one).

Note its now "George" not "Vi$ion$"

Herta officially shipped off to ALMS (http://www.speedtv.com/articles/alms/auto/33713/).

"XM will also broadcast “The Andretti Green Racing Hour,” which will be hosted by Herta along with the 2007 Andretti Green Racing team lineup."

Never a good sign when one owner makes up 25% of your field. Outside of the AGR, Penske and Ganassi lineups, are any of the teams driver lineups set?

RM's been on a roll these past few days, what with the article Spicoli linked and his ripping apart of Dinger on the CCWS site. (I'm suprised they let him post it on the official series site, but I digress).

The sale raises cash for the Indianapolis speedway as it approaches the 100th anniversary of its track in 2009 and the Indianapolis 500 race in 2011.

Gee. This implies that they need to raise cash. How could that be? :gomer:

Given the poor return on the investment (JB calced it at under 6%) I wonder if they were leveraged out based on cash required for future improvements. "We're building luxury suites and if you don't kick in your percentage we'll have to dilute your ownership accordingly."

Is Dale Coyne part of the remaining 25% that will be bought out as soon as the first deal is settled? I can't remember if he owns part of that place or not.

I seem to remember that he was an investor in the place. His shop is only a few miles from that track and I seem to remember him testing on the oval in the snow a few years back.

He is part owner. They tested in the snow at the Autobahn country club and I believe it was Kasemets.

I wonder how much Dale Coyne is going to make out of the sale of his stake in Rte. 66 and the Joliet track? Hope it's a goodly profit. :)

I remember the Autobahn too, but this was soon after the track orignially opened. The one in Cicero was still in existence and I thought is odd that Dale would own an oval in competition with the Chip Clip.

Apparently Dale was in Rte 66 for business sense and not necessarily to get CART there.

Dale was pretty smart on that one. He bought Rte. 66 and then organized the building of the NASCAResque oval before ISC could get their sticky fingers into the region as a sole proprietor.

Dennis Reinbold said his one-car team is in better financial shape, but he is not ready to say it will return to the IRL, which it joined in 2000. Reinbold and partner Robbie Buhl are considering a move to the Champ Car World Series.

D&R is in better financial shape and they're considering a move to Champcars?

hold on a minute here, if D&R have the money to go racing they'll be in the IRL. if they're short on budget they'll be threatening to move across to the EARL in the hope that :tony: cuts a few more checks from the family check book.

Two-time IndyCar Series champion Panther Racing announced a partnership with Super Aguri on Nov. 6 to run former Indianapolis 500 and Bombardier Rookie of the Year Kosuke Matsuura during the 2007 season.
Super Aguri Panther Racing will field Matsuura in the No. 55 Panasonic ARTA Honda Dallara alongside talented veteran Vitor Meira, who finished fifth in the championship standings last year.
