For some reason unknown to me I got a full-color 16 page brochure from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority outlining traffic rerouting from southern California to Las Vegas. In an effort to keep this from being a total waste of trees, I decided to post the basics here. Anyone from SoCal planning on going before Thanksgiving take note.

Partial quote:

"Major construction will be taking place at I-15 and 215 near Devore, CA over five consecutive weekends beginning Oct 6. Five dates have been selected: Oct 6-9, Oct 13-16, Oct 20-23, Oct 27-30, and Nov. 3-5.

Northbound I-15 work will begin at 11 PM on Fridays and conclude between 4 and 5 AM on Mondays. Southbound I-15 work will begin at 9 AM on Fridays and conclude at 1 PM on Sundays. Detours will be available, but travelers may encounter major delays.

This schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or other factors. Please check CalTrans' website (www.caltrans8.info) for the latest information."

for the life of me I can't understand why CalTrans would work on that stretch ONLY on the weekends ... the busiest days for that damned road!
