Why no thread? Race is Saturday.
Please, I don`t need to get tortured by TG lovers(BK) at the ALMS forum.

My money is on the Audi R10:gomer:

MCNISH, AUDI BACK ON TOP AT PETIT NIGHT PRACTICE
McNish set the pace with a 1:12.531 in the No. 2 Audi R10 TDI he will share with Dindo Capello. The session began with a damp track following a late-day shower but completely dried about midway through the session.
Next on the time chart was the No. 88 Creation-Judd of Nic Minassian, Harold Primat and Jamie Walter-Campbell. The British entry was a slim 0.022 seconds behind the diesel-powered Audi but was 0.2 seconds ahead of the No. 7 third-place Porsche RS Spyder of Romain Dumas.

Penske Racing's No. 7 Porsche RS Spyder turned in the fastest LMP2 time Thursday night.
Dumas' best lap of 1:12.744 put him in the top spot of LMP2 for Penske Racing. Another half-second back was the No. 6 sister car of Sascha Maassen, Timo Bernhard and Emmanuel Collard. Fifth overall – and third in LMP1 – was the Le Mans-winning trio of Frank Biela, Emanuele Pirro and Marco Werner in the No. 1 Audi. Third in LMP2, eighth overall, was the Horag Racing Lola-Judd of Didier Theys, Fredy Lienhard and Eric van de Poele.

Aston Martin Racing continued its stranglehold on GT1 with the top two spots. Tomas Enge was the fastest driver in the No. 007 Aston Martin DBR9, an effort of 1:19.138 that was a half second ahead of the No. 009 sister car of Stephane Sarrazin and Pedro Lamy. The No. 4 Corvette C6.R of defending race winners Oliver Gavin, Olivier Beretta and Jan Magnussen were third in class Thursday night at 1:23.237.

Maurizio Mediani was the quickest GT2 driver Thursday night at Road Atlanta.
Risi Competizione's No. 1 Ferrari F430GT paced the GT2 field. Maurizio Mediani, who will team with Anthony Lazzaro and Marino Franchitti, posted his first career fast lap in the Series at 1:23.928. The No. 21 BMW Team PTG BMW M3 of Bill Auberlen, Joey Hand and Boris said continued its stellar weekend with a second-place showing, just ahead of the

Cart v.2 ?:tony:

do these ****tards EVER have an original thought?

"Bad for CART, good for EARL"

Those stupid ****s can only dream of being as good as CART. They will never have the rabid following, the crowds pushing against the ropes to see the likes of Zanardi, Tracy, Andretti, Mansell, or Montoya on a Friday practice.

They'll never witness pure-bred racecars winding out to 16,000 rpm, they won't see the passion in the eyes of the fans, engine builder reps trying to win, drivers, or team owners.

They can copy as much as they want, but they don't have "it" & they never will.

Let's see...the best ALMS field in quite some time, potentially the best field in ALMS history shaping up for next year, but then they blow it with bad scheduling choices.

It's all Forsythe's fault. :yuck:

ORRRR...some speculate "something BIG is up" perhaps forshadowing, uh, something big? A roadracing centric conglomerate? Cosworth more involved in ALMS? More doubleheaders? Panoz as peacemaker? I agree, though, a mfgr. is involved. Guess who?

Cosworth more involved in ALMS?

There's a good chance of two "factory" Cosworth LMPs next year, thus fueling conspiracy theories that ALMS management is "rolling over" for Kalkhoven to "repay the favor."

B>S!!!!!!!!!!!!! Speed doesn't show the restart, because they want you to buy the Speed onboard pass. You had 2 minutes left of action you could have shown instead of a darn comercial for it's B.S on-board pass..... :shakehead

Seems they ALL need favors. Not sure who'd be repaying who. Silly of anyone to think a "factory" Cosworth deal would not be good for their series. Is this where Honda (Acura) will find the competition they say they crave? Fine, let's see it. I'm beyond worrying whether it is yen, dollars or do-nuts that will be needed to expand and improve the product. I'd love to see "something big" (bigger than Cosworth to ALMS!) generate more interest in road racing of any variety. Cooperation among those needing the help would be a nice start.:)

Cosworth needs another oultet anyway. It was announced that Spyker will be using Renault V8s next year in F1, so it looks like there are no teams left for Cossie.

great sequence. I'm sure he's having fun... but it's got to be just a little bit humbling for bourdais.

More humbling for Auberlen in the end.

Night time coverage was outstanding with them switching almost exclusivly to in-car shots.
