I don't watch the stuff but saw this over at gomerville and thought many here would get a kick out of it.

Dario Franchitti will not drive in Sunday’s final Indy-car race of the season at Chicagoland Speedway, having suffered a concussion last week during a vintage car accident in England.

Franchitti will be replaced on the Andretti Green Racing team by A.J. Foyt IV, who has not driven an open-wheel car since the end of last season when he left his grandfather’s team.
Foyt, 22, recently moved to North Carolina to explore options in NASCAR. He has driven in seven Busch Series races this season, the last being at Texas Motor Speedway in April. He drove in four last year.

Franchitti crashed his Jaguar E-type lightweight car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Why not just pluck the princess a race early and put Rahal the younger in to replace her?

Maybe there's a plan in the works here. Can the rest of the team slow down enough to let "Foyt" win?

I'm guessing the real reason behind this is Mikey needs a few more tax deductions to write off.;)

Not driving this weekend gives Franchitti a whole two weeks to get his head screwed on straight before he supposedly takes over for Shorty.

Ya think IV is going to be making notes for Grandpa as to how a real time is run?

Lots of Futile Wallbanging this weekend! Put IV in a fast car and Dallara has to be thinking KA-CHING!!! ¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥!

I do suspect that AJ4 got selected because he was the cheapest guy available. Mikey never saw a ¥en from Honda that he didn't want to keep in his own pocket.

What did Mikey say after a 4 day drunk?

"I hired WHO?"

- or -

" You idiot! I said Fire Hoyt!"

It was once the other way around: If memory serves, one year Jeff Andretti drove a car entered by A.J. Foyt at the Gomerville Invitational. I believe a hub failure and the resulting injuries ended Jeff's career--not that he had much of a career going.

Dario does not get paid that much money. Not even half that. Those guys at Andreki Racing have you pegged. Telephone, Telegraph, Telespicoli:tony:
