as international space station astronaut Jeff Williams taped what was supposed to be a spirited video promotion for NASA's use later, the transmission was overheard Tuesday by the Associated Press, which then sent the news into orbit.

In the video, Williams, who is nearing the end of a six-month stay aboard the outpost, plays with a triangular, floating scale model of the bell-shaped Orion spacecraft.

"We've been calling it the crew exploration vehicle for several years, but today it has a name — Orion," Williams said.

The transmission was supposed to reach Mission Control over a private channel, but a wrong configuration of equipment on the ground allowed it to come over the normal air-to-ground link, said James Hartsfield, a spokesman for NASA's Johnson Space Center.

Orion works for me. :)

While it's better then nothing, it still disappoints me that after all these years our next big leap in space exploration is re-inventing the Apollo hardware. :(
