The new FIA freeze on engine development is set to hit the suppliers. Cosworth has announced they plan to lay off 150 people at all levels and the others will no doubt be following suit.

50% of the engines that we produce are for development rather than racing

Ok, so I haven't been paying attenion, but how do they plan on enforcing this freeze?
And it's not like Ferrari and Honda and Toyota won't continue to develop their engines anyway, for when the freeze is lifted. They would be left behind if they stopped the development. :saywhat:

This seems another silly move by Max.Freeze the aero, Max, if you want to save money. :shakehead

This engine freeze reminds me of what happened with GM in the EARL.

The engine that GM for the 2003 season was crap and GM had to endure the embarassment of running a substandard engine until they bought the Chevworth engine.

After the Brazilian GP, whoever has a crap engine is stuck with that engine for another few years. :saywhat:

I'm surprised that Max hasn't gone and banned all engines from F1 cars. :gomer:
