AJ takes provisional pole. The boy is still on fire.

Wonder what's up with SB? Didn't go out for a second stint.

Wilson takes P1 today.

That should make it Wilson and AJ on row 1. SB in row two.

Early preditiction: SB has some kind of trouble on lap 1 to put him back aways. It will of course be someone elses fault.

First 2 rows. All I can hope for is PT following AJ to end up 1-2 after a couple turns. :)

That would be a tough decision I think, with the merger possiblity hanging like a dark cloud ( ;) ) over the open wheel landscape for the next couple years.

A.J.'s contract (http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/champcar/28140/)

As evidence of his rising stature not only in the Champ Car World Series but on the international racing scene, A.J. Allmendinger has retained CSS Stellar Management as his agents. Allmendinger thus joins a distinguished list of clients including Sebastien Loeb, Juan Pablo Montoya, Dan Wheldon and Dario Franchitti.

"I felt it was time in my life for me to concentrate on racing and let someone else figure out the fun stuff," said Allmendinger.

Notwithstanding his two wins in as many tries with Forsythe Championship Racing, Allmendinger came to Toronto this week with out a firm contract with Gerald Forsythe for the future. Although Forsythe reportedly offered Allmendinger a 2 1/2 year contract (the remainder of this year plus 2007 and 2008), Allmendinger - or CSS Stellar - insisted on a contract just through the end of this year. This is in stark contrast to Forsythe’s recent new deal with Paul Tracy, which runs through 2011.

"We’ll just have to see how the rest of this season goes," said Allmendinger. "I’m not against multi-year deals, I’m not for multi-year deals. We’ll just have to figure out what’s best for everyone involved. I’m not too worried. Everybody knows the love I have for Champ Car. If I do my job, then everything will take care of itself."

There could be quiet a bidding war for A.J. when Ganassi, Rahal and Andretti move back to Champ car next season. ;)

Obviously A.J. wants to make sure he'll get what he's worth, but it sounds like he'll stay loyal to Champ car (famous last words). I'm not sure who else would be in a position to bid for him unless NH loses Seabass or dumps Blinky.

Isn't this the last year on Bruno's contract? If not, I agree, only 3 or 4 teams could afford to bid for his services. I doubt it will be RuSport, FCR put in an offer and that leaves PKV (will KK open up his wallet, seems doubtful, but who knows) and N/H.

Dr. Corkski

The only other team that AJ would realisitically consider is N/H, and I don't think their base salary is going to be very high either. I don't see why he would want to leave Forsythe unless Gesus Forsythe is insulting him with a contract less than what he gave Tracy.

Kalkhoven seems more intent on using PKV as a means to whore away some of Danica's publicity than actually treating it as a proper racing team.

HVM does a decent job underfunded thanks to Wiggins but they need drivers that bring money. All the rest are just field fillers, even if Paul Gentilozzi said he was serious about winning on some lemming site. :gomer:

Then again no one thought Russo was going to fire him.

Too bad all races & broadcasts aren't this good. Some good storys within the story going on too, nice for the series. Staying away from too many caution laps keeps away the timed race thing which allows the broadcast to develop the way it always should. A+ job for the series on this one.

There are a lot of factors that make this race a success, the fans not the least of them, but a course layout with two good passing zones is the #1 reason Toronto has such a strong history IMO. Take away that actual racing and the rest would lose it's luster. If they want to do street events, this and Long Beach are what they have to look like.
