This reminded me of something. Back in 2002, I posted a modified ad - trying to put a positive spin on having only three American drivers. The update would be a bit more lonely, but with all of the optimism... Replace Three with One.

That was a pure "I'm pi$$ed off and I'm gonna show you" type of win. He just went out there and did it. Good race strategy and good pit crew work helped also. Glad to see it! Now, on to Cleveland, my home race. I will be posting lots of pics here at Off Camber!

Bonus - got to say the F word on national tv  :D

From the post-race teleconference

Q. A.J., are you glad CBS has a six-second delay?

AJ ALLMENDINGER: You know, did I cuss on TV?

Q. Yeah, after taking the checkers

AJ ALLMENDINGER: I didn't remember that, so. Oh, well, yes then. I don't know. It didn't matter at that point. I was just yelling, so... Figured Dale Jr. did it, so why couldn't I.

SEBASTIEN BOURDAIS: Because you can't afford it

AJ ALLMENDINGER: That's true, yeah (laughter).

"you guys are f'ing-<click>"

I was listening to AJ radio. The full exchange was:

AJ: YOOOO! YOU GUYS ARE F'IN AWESOME!!!! YOOOOHOOOO!!!!

Mickelwright (or whomever the #7 engineer is): (In quiet, somewhat uncertain tone). Well, uh, you are pretty good yourself AJ.

Too funny

Race Director. Any race going back to I think 2000 can be seen on demand.

Atlantics too

This was the best race in a very long time, and not just because AJ won. And the Atlantics race was good too.

That was an entertaining race. The lack of a first lap full course yellow was particularly appreciated. Congratulations to all involved. Keep up the good work for Cleveland.

It was also mentioned that this was the first time at Portland that all cars had been running at the finish. Which of course means that at Cleveland, there will be a turn one melee that wipes out 87% of the grid.

Both the Atlantics and the Champ Cars Portland races will be rebroadcast on Speed this Saturday afternnon/evening. Set your timer now, so that we can be clinkin' plastic beer cups at Burke right about that time.

Did Will Power make it back on the track? Last I remember he was in the pits and the engine cover was being removed.

I found this quite odd. Was PT not there. This is the second race this season where PT (Mexico City) just vanished after it was over.

I've learned to just ignore or not pay much attention to anything you have to say about PT. The picture above only confirms that.

No he likes Servia, he just never lets anyone know who is a fan of because they usually suck worse than the person/team he is always bashing.

That's an experinced racing forum method. Never expose your weak spots. The good doctor knows how to play it.
