In other news, the Rusty Wallace Foundation announced today that it would start a programs of grants to disadvantaged IRL teams so they can get much needed wind-tunnel testing. "Teams shouldn't have to decided between eating and wind-tunnel testing," Wallace said as he fought back tears. cracks me up.

COMPETITIVE BANTER: Pole-sitter Junqueira and Newman/Hass teammate Bourdais, in third after qualifying, jokingly traded barbs with new Forsythe Championship Racing driver Allmendinger on the podium, with Bourdais promising to go after Allmendinger if he tried to pass his teammate.

"He comes after me, I'll send my teammate (Toronto native Paul Tracy) after you, how about that," Allmendinger replied. "He's not in striking distance. That's fine," Bourdais said.
