Allez! :gomer:

Which Audi will win? On the off chance they don't, can Henri's boys take it home? Will ANY P2 survive?

Burning questions! :p

i hear life will not be good for the a10 if there is rain... very torque-y.

I think the a10 now has improved all-weather capability.

Dindo bounced off the guardrail & beached his R10...missing that traction control?

Top 30 times from today (though they'll likely be meaningless):

The original goal for the Porsche was never to be at LeMans in the first full season. Hopefully next year. The other main LMP2 car is the Field (Intersport??) entry, which is in LeMans. Don't know if the Mazda is there, or if the organizers still have their little "problem" with rotaries.

As far as the rest of the P1 ALMS "field" there's really only Dyson. They've had way to many teething problems this year to make the expense of going to France make sense. Basically it would end up nothing more than a test-session to see what breaks within 4 hours. They can do that here.

I kinda figured Champion's R8's would be there, but they are for sale in pretty much every automotive magazine I read.

Those things won't last 4 hours, let alone 24! At least not yet..... Hence, them not showing up!

Idiot question: I distinctly remember watching the Le Mans race via satellite at Long Beach.

Did Long Beach alter their date, or did LM???

Was the memory that is fricken burned into my brain on the medium-rare side?

WTF is my major malfunction?

I was at LB, watching LM. I swear!

(it was in 2002. It might have been at RA, or another place. But I SWEAR it was in LB! You guys could figure out if I have a brainfart way faster than me.)

The B-K Mazda team did not apply for an invitation.

The R8 isn't legal at Le Mans any more, only ALMS (and the JLMC too, I guess).

Thanx for the info. I was wondering about the r8 this year, after winning in "more" restricted form last year.

I can see the B-K team not spending the money to go. Other than one good outing, results have been kinda indifferent to this point.

I think it's a brain fart, G. Le Mans has always, well for years anyway, been mid June. LB has always been April. RA has roamed around a bit, but never in June in my recent memory. Always late July to September somewhere.

Remember, LSD is bad for you. :D

Try Laguna Seca.

Le Mans was June 15-16, 2002
Laguna Seca was June 16, 2002

Edit:
Damn. Okay I can't read.
The June 16, 2002 race was Portland not Laguna Seca.
Laguna Seca was June 9, 2002

The June 15, 2003 race was Laguna Seca
Le Mans was June 14-15 2003

Also, I remember that one year LeMans was the same weekend as the Chicago Oval.... I stayed up most of Saturday night watching Speed, then left 8 am from Windsor with my buddy Mikey and we saw the Chicago race (i believe it was its final year) and then turned around and came home.

It must have been delayed coverage or a repeat. I remember ranting on 7G about how Speed stopped coverage at 4 am so they could show infomercials.....

That day at Chicago was stupid hot.....

Their "one good outing" was largely because everyone else in P2 broke. The 3-rotor is waaaaay down on power and their (hopefully soon to be mothballed) chassis is a boat anchor. Rumors abound regarding their future; hopefully things pan out well.
