No doubt, but as those things go it wasn't that bad and she was pretty hot (and actually still is for a 53 yo). What I find most interesting is how she had in that video some of the over the top hand jestures as were on display last week during her speech at the DNC (hers was the most animated speech that was aired). I have never seen her give a speech before (just interviews) so maybe she is always that way.

Also, memo to the people who organized the DNC, when your speaker has great cleavage like that you don't dress her like this:

Follow-up: I forwarded the video to an old high school friend who works for NFL Films, because I thought he might get a kick out of it. He forwarded it on to the producers of Truth in 24, and to the composer of the song, David Robidoux. They all sent along kind words to tell me they enjoyed the video very much (Mr. Robidoux suggested I buy the boy a guitar. Someday, maybe).

Nice people.

Switch to Capital Limited in Chi-town and we will sit up for the last night. Just out of the budget to do the sleeper thing all the way. Not cheap - we did the family bedroom on the Auto Train. Cozy to say the least, but private. Definitely get that 1930's feel on the train. Very cool. Trying to talk the Mrs into a trip up to Niagara Falls on the train.

Someone forgot to take a look at the wisdom of restoring and actually using Grand Central, 30th Street, Washington Union Station and a few others.

Up in Ogden they did the same thing. Nicely restored the station but then build a crappy new station for the actual rail passengers. :saywhat:

I've got a reasonable jazz collection but I'll admit that the "crazy angular work" does nothing for me. It's hard as hell to do well and Brubeck hit that out of the park but it just isn't what I'm looking for.

OK, Jazz aficionados, tell me something. How dependent is jazz on cannabis? I know all modern western music is to some extent, but it seems to me, listening to that Brubeck piece, that this is some seriously cerebral music, almost too much so for me to be fully immersed in it sober. I have always felt Blues more deeply when drinking. Do you need to be baked to get jazz?

Nah, no need to be tanked. Like a lot of stuff, it's a bit of a curve learning what to listen for. It's the emotional intensity in this one that gets me, the contrast between the increasingly dark tension and Desmond's sweet warm tone, and then it all breaks open when Brubeck starts banging away.
