He ran a great race. Some very ballsy moves. I was very impressed, he seems to have come a long way.

Yep, idiot should have used the excuse that Derek gave him. That was just plain stupid.

There are two possibilities

Nelson totally missed his brake point
Servia braked very early

Both situations would look the same on video tape

Yep, either total brain fade or Oriol was F'n with him. He has not made major dumb moves in the past. I think there is more going on here.

I think we'll know the full story on this one since it seems Cottman and company will be looking into the telemetry.

(Just for the record, while I appreciated his gesture wearing the Leafs jersey, I'm NOT a Leaf fan.)

Just got from the PKV press release:

When Phillipe and Tagliani, who were using different out sequence strategies, pitted on lap 64 and 70 respectively, Servia was back in fifth. At that point he began to use his fuel advantage to press the car ahead. Six laps later, Phillipe came up from behind and appeared to miss, or even forget about, his braking point ramming Servia from behind and sending both cars sliding into the tires.

"It was a weird race," Servia began. "We had a problem with the left front of the car during the first stint. I still don't know what was wrong. So we pitted early. But, it actually worked out well for the Gulfstream - PKV Racing team because we had a lot of clear track and I was extremely fast on my own," he explained. "Then at the end, the other drivers were saving fuel and I was good to go to the end, so I thought we were in good shape. Then Nelson (Phillipe), I think, obviously he missed his braking point. I don't know maybe he was focused on something else and just forgot where he was braking and he nailed us. There was nothing I could do at that point," Servia noted.

On the broadcast NP said the stewards told him they thought is was Servia's fault. Any "official" action taken?

WAAAAAAA it's not my (NP) fault WAAAA

As far as any "official" word, my word is BS on Nelson.

Come on. Even if Servia did brake early Fabio totalled him from the rear.
Can you say "People on ludes should not drive". Pay attention.

If he thought it was Servia's fault he should have just said that he was looking
at what happened.

But as they taught me in Drivers Ed. Hit someone from the rear and it's your
fault no matter what.

The race track isn't driver's ed. You don't maintain a "safe distance" between you and the car in front of you. This is racing, the goal is to win and you may need to pass to do it.

These racecars don't have brakelights, either, so it's not like you can tell if someone brakes early.
