My urban hipster sis is telling me about a friend who invited her to the races. Apparently this friend's brother is "the pakistani driving champion" and she's been invited to "hang out in the pits" whatever the heck that means... this also means I must inconvenience her by having her hangout down there with me, god forbid she do something to make up for the fact she missed my bday the past 2 years :gomer: (I have been saving this card for 17 months, time to blindside her and play it. :D)

I'm guessing he's a feeder series driver and this could mean free access, which means I might keep $100 in my pockets...

So what's the dealio? Any Pakis running either of these series?

Or maybe ALMS?

Maybe she meant Graham Rahal. You could be kicking it with Booby. :p

There's definitely no Pakistani in the current Atlantic lineup...dunno about Star Mazda.

There was no Pakistani in the Sebring Mazda race.

Matt Varsha (son of Bob) races in Star Mazda, but he's from Atlanta not Islamabad.

Nur Ali's website has Houston listed as his "next race." 'Course, the website also suggests he ran Star Mazda at Sebring too, so who knows.

Extramundane is correct, Nur Ali is scheduled to participate in the Star Mazda event at Houston.

He drove well at Sebring. He started dead last and finished fourth. That is a whole lot of passing for a 17 lap race with a field of 37 cars .

Who is Nur Ali? No, seriously.

I'd never heard of him until Nismo's post. Neither had my Pakistani colleague, who looked him up. Apparently he drove for Pakistan in A1GP at some point.

Nur Ali has been running the Southwestern Regional Star Mazda Series for the past few years and has run some A1GP events as well. I believe this will be his first time racing in our pro series.

We should have close to 40 drivers in our event and with the hordes of Atlantic drivers this year the support paddock should be pretty full!

Awww, somebody cares!. No, Ank, had to plan the road trip to Denver this year. It's all set. Busy season for Bro in May, vacations blacked out. I'd love to have done Houston and tried, but I'd have been shot if I went without him! I'm looking for full adoption of my proposed mergification schedule which would allow us to do Indy, Milwaukee, RA, Kansas City, Cleveland, Denver and Chicago. I didn't NEED Houston, but I bet it'll be fun! Enjoy!

Does Pakistan have any race tracks for someone to be the "Pakistani driving CHAMPION"?

Apart from the roads that is, ;) :
