This race was one of the support races for the 1978 Australian Grand Prix at Sandown Park.

The ABC (Australian Broadcating Commision) has been going though all it's old sports film stocks and replaying them late at night.Old Tasman races from the Sixties,touring car races from the seventies,eighties bike races and even a couple of fifties open-wheeler races.

The worst part of it all is watching the old races and comparing it to what we see today and,yes,the racing did seem to be more interesting back then,imho.I think because the cars were not as good and the drivers had to really fight them to go fast and you can see them working hard doing so.
