Just got home from work and I hear a BIG sucking sound, what could it be????????? SHarpe, Chesson and Simmons getting sucked up by the draft?

Do these guys and gal have a pilot licence or racing licence?

What a bunch of wankers and oh I read too where Enge and Ed the stepson seatfiller kissed too.

What a deal! Why do people watch this stuff? Is it the free red hats that come with the free tickets?

Wait a minute...did I miss something? This has to be without a doubt the worst race broadcast I have ever seen. Ten minutes of Danica, Danica, Danica and then we see the race at lap 17!? Now I know I wasn't there at exactly the top of the hour but no way in hell it was 17 laps late! Oh, Special Ed in the first incident. Surprise. Simmons is making the best of his opportunity. Two ruined cars so far. Any bets on Rahal going to Dallaras? My word, even if I ADORED the IRL I'd be puking! "Five cars on the trailer, or rather, 'in the bag.' " Best line so far. Danica is awesome in those commercials, though. Doesn't have to say a word.

you didnt miss anything, they indeed started 17 laps late

Wow, even Rusty has had it with Danica. He had to plead with the lead announcer to talk about the fast laps of Tony Kanaan, but the reply was "I have to talk about who they show us on the screen!" :shakehead

I didnt hear that.

But I just heard one of the announcers talking about practice times or something at Indy.

And when he came to Danica, he emphasised her name, and directed the statement to Rusty.

Sounds like there is some issue between the two over the princess of earl.

Rusty is not afraid to speak his mind.

I actually like him in the booth. Goodyear, however, remains an idiot. :shakehead Apparently, according to 'ole Scotty, Simmons drove in Indy Lights. Indy Lights? You mean they revived Indy Lights? Or did you just possibly mean IPS?

:gomer: :shakehead

Meanwhile, that production was a trainwreck. Let's see, they aired the "pre-race" twice, started 17 laps in, and had terrible quality. Bar none, the worst POS broadcast I've seen.

Heh. Well, honestly though, that broadcast was an abortion.

So, it wasn't just ME then! Glad I don't give a crap about this one!

I need to correct myself. I've been told that Simmons did indeed run Indy Lights in '00. So, Goodyear wasn't as off as I thought.

Now, I doubt, based on his next sentence, that is what he meant, but still.

Didn't see it but this thread has me looking forward to pressdog's blog. He's at his best when the broadcasts are at their worst and I've been missing the Todd Harris factor in his blogs this season.

For some reason, the pressdog thread was posted in Gatherings:

That green #17 car is bad luck.

Green: bad luck in racing.
#17: Bad luck in Italy.

They should run #18 at Indy, and paint the car yellow. at least run #18....

Perhaps "handling" explains why he spun on the restart :gomer: . Anyone else notice that either Rice or Danica spun in the same spot as Sharp bringing up the rear? Didn't hit anything and did not catch the eye of those in the booth.

Motegi is actually one of the IRL races I always make a point of watching. Flat oval with actual driver challenges has been a favorite going back to CART days.

Nissan needs to make an engine for the backmarkers. That way they would be driving D/N/F

Evidently, Simmons not only drove in Indy Lights, he had Four Wins in Indy Lights!! :gomer:

I must admit I was surprised that Goodyear dropped the "Champ Car" bomb in one of his ramblings. :o

Maybe fourrunner made him do that... :D
