Rich,

I like that alot more than my suggestions.

Now I just hope we have a long, long time before we need to use it again.

Devilmaster had suggested changing the title of those members who have passed away to "Absent Friends." It was a good idea and so we decided to do that but keep the titles in the racing theme, hence "Hall of Fame."

Thanks Steve :)

That's got to be one of the best ideas I have ever seen. Love it!

fourrunner, Railbird, MadMaxfan, who else has been taken from us?

When did MMFan pass away? I know he was sick.

Okay. I remember reading that post. I just thought maybe there had been another post that I missed.

I thought it was about the cars, the venue, the turbos. They've all changed or moved on with little effect.

Nope. The people moving on - different story.

This place reinforces that it is the people that matter - why else we would all still come here.

That's right, Elmo. It is so strange to read this thread because I just wrote to someone that I hadn't cried this hard since the post from MadMaxFan. Dammit. Just dammit.

From the pchall thread:

I think the hall of fame list is at 5 or 6 now. And that’s just the ones we know...

MadMaxFan
Railbird
Fourrunner
Oddlycalm
Pchall

Those are the ones I remember at the moment...

I remembered a couple more, which resulted in a research project…

Sort of macabre, but I think it’s important to remember and honor our dear departed friends… :(

Hard to believe it has been a year since we lost oddlycalm. You are missed, OC.

Raise a glass to all our departed friends the holiday season.

Because we so often continue threads from years back, I see that little "oc" fairly often. We really lost a good one. And pchall was one of my earliest memories of online race fandom.

I've been thinking of him lately. I guess this is why. I still miss his insights and his humor and--HIM!
