He decided to get some street course wheel time in prior to Long Beach

He proceeded to sweep the IPS races :D

...Matos decided to polish his street-racing skills. On loan to Guthrie Racing from the Sierra Sierra team for the weekend, Matos swept both ends of the Indy Pro Series doubleheader race weekend at St. Petersburg.

The No. 25 Automatic Sprinklers, Inc. car driven by Arie Luyendyk Jr. will not complete this weekend's activities after sustaining damage to the tub and gearbox in the second practice session March 31.

Surprised me. Howard said maybe he'll come over to try Atlantics "and rain on his (Matos') parade," I'd like to see him make that effort. Those two guys have a future as bright as anyone's at the moment!
